The Solent Mitigation Partnership is working in collaboration with the Freshwater Habitats Trust and councils in the New Forest to deliver septic tank upgrades in the New Forest catchment.
A former farmland site near Romsey is now a nature recovery area, reducing nutrient runoff into the Solent. The project has generated over 1300 verified nutrient credits to support sustainable development in the region.
The SMP is working with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to generate Nitrogen and Phosphorus credits for developments within the northern part of the Test and Itchen and Itchen catchments.
